Photosynth demo

Photosynth demo

For the first time in quite some time I actually wish I had a PC. No, it’s not that I’ve grown tired of OSX. It’s because this Microsoft demo of Photosynth is currently only working on Win XP and Vista. I only recently discovered Google Street View and was mightily impressed. Photosynth however, is something far bigger. Somthing like and engine for linking, associating and mapping the collective mind of graphical (and text) data. Have a look at this excellent video, and then continue on to the actual demo.

If you ever saw the movie Deja Vu, with Denzel Washington, you’ll they claimed to do pretty much the same thing. However, those guys actually had the benfit of a quantum physics time machine thingy. So what exactly does Microsoft have in their labs? Any strange poweroutages in Redmond lately?
